It is encouraged that students have dance shoes or shoes that are smooth on the bottom (no rubber or treds) and stay on their feet well (no slip-on shoes, pumps without straps) or heavy and inflexible shoes (plaforms or boots). This will make dancing easier and and more enjoyable!
Paradise Tango encourages dancers to read thorugh the general "Codigos en la Milonga" before attending a milonga. You can read through our general "Codigos" below. This includes the "Cabeceo" or how to ask someone to dance. We do NOT enforce the use of Cabeceo, though it can be fun to try it to ask each other to dance. We encourage folks to switch roles, or have ladies lead and men follow. As long as everyone is having fun we're happy!
We also encourage the practice of safe floorcraft (second image below).
