Private and Semi-Private Group Lessons

For those new to the tango, private lessons can be an excellent way to get comfortable with the fundamentals of tango before you join a group lesson or begin dancing tango socially. For those with a little more tango experience who perhaps are currently studying tango in group lessons, private lessons can be an excellent way to work on specific problem areas or to make sure that bad habits are recognized and stopped before they become ingrained. And for those more intermediate/advanced dancers, private lessons can be an excellent way to further refine your tango and perhaps even develop your performance skills. Private lessons offer a learning pace that is tuned to you in particular, which usually means a slightly accelerated learning pace over group classes. Private lessons are good for feeling what an excellent partner should feel like, because you get to dance directly with the instructor, who, in theory anyway, is pretty good at this stuff. Private lessons are also good for being coached on what you should feel like, since the instructor can give you feedback on a moment-to-moment basis. General, non-choreography (or wedding dance) lessons do not include lifts, dips, drops or other show tango movements (see choreography page for more information).

One-on-One: Private Lessons with both Brett and Jennifer
A great way to learn for either a leader or follower. As a leader you have the opportunity to dance with Jennifer while Brett teaches you leaders technique and styling, alternatively if you are a follower you have the opportunity to dance with Brett while Jennifer teaches follower technique and styling.

Single 1 hour class: $90
Package of 5 classes: $400 (save $50)
Package of 10 classes: $700 (save $200)

For a Couple: Private Lessons with both Brett and Jennifer
Taking private lessons as a couple is a great way to learn and develop your dancing. You will work alternately with Brett and Jennifer, and each other. The teaching goes at your pace, whether you learn slower or faster than most people. As a couple you are able to work together, and with our help develop your tango technique.

Single 1 hour class: $95
Package of 5 classes: $425 (save $50)
Package of 10 classes: $750 (save $200)

Private Lessons with either Brett or Jennifer
If you would like to work solely on leading techniques (i.e. a leader working with Brett) or followers techniques (i.e. a follower working with Jennifer) this is a great option. While these lessons are slightly less expensive than working with both Brett and Jennifer together, they cannot supply the same depth of teaching and dance experience as working with both an experienced lead and follower. This type of lesson no longer applies for Leaders working only with Jennifer, or Followers working only with Brett.

Single 1 hour class: $75
Package of 5 classes: $325 (save $50)
Package of 10 classes: $550 (save $200)

Semi-Private Smalll Group Private Lessons with both Brett and Jennifer
This option is meant for couples who want to take lessons together but do not want to take a group class. This option is available for a maximum of 4 couples at a time (8 people). The rate is based on a single couples private $95 plus an additional $10 per person. The individuals in this type of group private must be dancing in couples (an equal number of leads and follows). No solo dancing (i.e. 5 people). We currently do not offer a package discount for this type of private lesson.

Single 1 hour class for 2 couples (4 people): $105
Single 1 hour class for 3 couples (6 people): $135
Single 1 hour class for 4 coupels (8 people): $155

Private Lesson Scheduling Policy

Each instructor makes their own schedule. It is Paradise Tango policy to NOT call students to solicit the schedulign of lessons. It is up to the student to check the calendar for changes in available dates, to contact their instructors, and to make their own appointments. Teachers will not initiate the scheduling of lessons, it must be student motivated. We also are no longer able to guarantee text reminders before your lesson. If you miss a lesson, plase see the the next section.

Private Lesson Cancellation/Refund/Credit Policy

Each Instructor maintains their own policies and procedures, please check with your Instructor for details. However, the minimum expectation and policy is as follows:

• Students should give at least 24 hours notice when cancelling a private lesson. Brett and/or Jenny must be contacted directly to cancel by leaving a voice or text message at 831-239-6529.
• If a student cancels with at least 24 hours notice you will not be charged a fee.
• If a student cancels with less than 24 hours notice, or is a no-show, they will be charged the full price of the private lesson.
• If the student cancels private lessons "chronically" (more than 2 times in a row, or 3 times in any 6 month period), then they will be required to pay in advance and provide at least 72 hours notice to avoid being charged for the private lesson.

Private Lesson Pre-paid Package Refunds Policy

Students may choose to pre-pay for a package of 5 or 10 private lessons to get a significant discount per lesson. However, we never pressure our students to purchase packages. Our individual private lesson rates are very reasonable and the best value in the industry. You may choose to just take, and pay for, a private lesson, one-at-a-time.

If a student has purchased a discounted private lesson package, and doesn't complete all the lessons in the package, he/she can request a refund of the unused portion of the package. The refund amount will be determined by deducting from the outstanding total package price paid, the instructor's standard individual private lesson rate, times the amount of lessons used. If at least 30 days have passed since purchase, a 25% (of the original price) administrative fee will also be deducted.

All Private Lessons in a pre-paid package must be completed within 6 months of purchase. After 6 months ths balance is Non-Refundable under any circumstance.
